I've just joined a group of bloggers who are participating in a March 2007 personal challenge to be healthier in some way or lose weight.
This is to help me keep up my goal of running in a 5K race within 2 months on the couch potato to 5k program I found. Although I support my clients to lose weight and often to get fit too, it's great to have a little support myself.
So far I'm doing well and have done 2 of the 3 sessions for week 3. It is definitely getting harder. (3 whole minutes of running at a time now - I am really feeling the slopes in the Edinburgh streets!)
I benefited fom the "just get to the front door" phenomenon yesterday. Just as I got to the door - all wrapped up and ready to go out in the cold with hat, gloves and warm clothes, the heavens opened and it started pouring down.
Instead of making that an excuse not to go I decided that now I'd got that far I'd go out anyway - and it really wasn't so bad. I just had a lovely hot shower when I got back and all was well. Now I know I can run in the rain any time and ir does not need to put me off.
What excuses do you use that are really not true reasons for taking a break from doing what you know you need to do?
Janice
Sadly enough, I'll use homework. I'll just put it off until I can't work out because I have to get it done. (Although, most of the time I would still be able to get it done after the gym!) I'm trying to not do that anymore.

Hi Cory
Hi Cory,
They say that the earlier in the day you plan your exercise the more likely you are to do it. If you go later in the day, "life" tends to get in the way.
Of course, if you plan your exercise the day before, and have all your gym clothes ready just to grab and go, there are even fewer excuses :)
Good luck with keeping up your workouts
Janice
