There are lots of questions being asked about GI Capsules around the web as a result of a hard hitting advertising campaign arriving through letter boxes all over the country it seems.
As a weight loss coach I haven't seen any capsule - unless it's a prescription drug with documented side effects - help anyone lose weight without changing food and/or exercise habits.
Some people have noted in other threads here how the advertising does not ring true, that the experts and case studies are unreal but to be fair I have no idea whether the claims GI Capsules have would stand up in court.
All I can say is that if the product has any effect at all people who buy it will not be able to resist singing from the rooftops about how much weight they lost and how quickly. And in 2 weeks you'll not be able to hear anything else.
I would wait a while and continue with the food and exercise program your health deserves because it's my belief that like all those "miracle products" before it GI Capsules will not make anyone happy with their weight. Why not hang fire and wait and see?
Or if you can't resist the advertising, post and let the rest of us know how you get on :)
Iv always bin unconfortable with my weight and it always seems to 'bring me down'! But i cant stop eating, especially 'fatty foods' and no matter how much i eat i never feel fully satisfied, and still feel hungry! Im only 18 and im suffering from sereous depression because of my weight! These tablets seem so promising but i dont have much money and i dont want to buy these tablets if there going to be a waste of money!! i would really appreciate it if you would email me back with a refrence on these tablets. many thanks Charlotte Harris

Well, Charlotte, no one has rushed to let me know about their success with GI Capsules so I doubt if they are the wonderful solution that they seem to be implying. I would save my money.
Re overeating - it's human nature to want to eat and to overeat sometimes but if you are overeating all of the time it's usually because you are trying to fill a gap or mask a problem that is nothing to do with food.
Willpower and diet are not usually the best way to tackle this kind of overeating - they deal with the symptoms of overeating and not the underlying cause. What are you trying to avoid thinking about that you need to deal with?
Get some help and support if you need it to work through your issues before (or even while) dealing with your weight.
Hope this helps

Hi, I would like to order some more gi capsules as they have helped me lose about 3 pounds a week over the past few weeks. unfortunately I didn't keep the reorder form that came in the box. I was quite pleased with the results of the whole programme, easy to use and no problems with them and the freebies they kindly sent certainly helped me, so if anyone has the phone number please let me know.

HI MANY PEOPLE ON THE CHIT CHAT ROOM HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THE GI CAPSULES AND I HAVE SOME MYSELF.IT HAS BEEN 10 DAYS SO FAR AND NO WEIGHT LOSS.THERE IS NOBODY WHO FIRST REPORTED NO LOSS AND THEN CAME BACK ON LINE TO SAY THEY NOW HAVE!ONLY PEOPLE WHO GO ON LINE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND SAY THEY DID HAVE TROUBLE AT FIRST AND NOW ITS GREAT -THINK ABOUT IT?!MANY ARE SUSPICIOUS THAT THESE PEOPLE WORK FOR THE COMPANY AND WHY DO SO MANY OF THEM LOSE THE ORDER NO AND PUT IN A REQUEST FOR SOMEONE TO TELL THEM HOW TO GET SOME MORE?BEING AS THE COMPANY OFFER A REFUND(ONE LADY HAS TRIED UNSUCCESFULLY TO GET THAT)WHY WOULD YOU NOT BE CAREFUL TO KEEP THE COTACT NO.ALSO THE DAILY MAIL HAS THEIR LEGAL EXPERTS LOOKING INTO THE FACT THAT THEIR LITERATURE STATES THE MAIL IS TO BREAK THE NEWS OF THE SUCCESS OF THE CAPSULES-NOT TRUE!!!! THE LITERATURE SAYS THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO DIET BUT WHEN YOU RECIEVE THE CAPSULES IT TELLS YOU THAT THEY ONLY WORK WITH CALORIE CONTROLLED DIET!!!IN ADDITION TO ALL THIS I HAVE LOOKED UP EVERY INGREDIENT ON THE NET AND ALTHOUGH MOST ARE USED IN OTHER"SLIMMING PRODUCTS"THERE IS NOYHING NEW AND CERTAINLY NOTHING THAT IS SUPPOSED TO LOWER THE GI CONTENT OF FOOD. I AM AFRAID IT LOOKS MORE AND MORE LIKE A SCAM.ONE GUY HAS EVEN DISCOVERED THAT THE ADDRESS IS AN ANONYMOUS BUILDING AT BRUSSELS AIRPORT!!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ALL THE BEST WITH ANYONE STRUGGLING TO LOSE WEIGHT

Thanks for posting Jan. I did wonder whether some of the comments were from people selling the GI capsules and no one ever did come back answering questions.
In my time as a weight loss coach I have never come across a non-precription legal drug which did anything for weight loss and even the precription ones are of limited use.
You have to love yourself enough to give yourself the nourishment and exercise your body needs and not feed yourself unknown and potentially damaging substances in the quest to lose weight.

Hi Ladies. In sheer desperation, I let down my normally sceptical defence and ordered GI Capsules. I've lost one pound in ten days, and I agree with former postings that ask, 'Why would a satisfied customer lose the contact details. I have the firm's address and phone number. If anyone else is stupid enough to want it they can e-mail me. I am about to test the waters about getting a refund. Anyone want to place bets on my chances of success? This is the first time I've ever been desperate enough to allow myself to be conned, and it will be the last. Hey Ho back to Weight Watchers

Hi I have been reading some of the comments and I am under the impression that when something is too good to be true then people obviously suspect there is scam. I am from a sports fitness and nutritional back ground and totally understand and embrace the importance of keeping fit eating healthy etc. I had my second child in Oct 05 and the weight did not come off as it had with my first also my time was limited and exercise was put on hold. I recieved a sheet on the GI capsule and thought I would give it a go as my weight was usually around 8 stone 6 pound and I couldnt shift the 7 pound from my hips. I saw no results in the first couple of weeks but have since slimmed down to what I wanted. I DO NOT WORK for the company and I was really sceptical about buying the tablets. It comes complete with a GI food list those of high and low and gives nutrtional information. I also passed some onto a friend who weighed 20 stone in July. He found he urinated alot in the first weeks but no weight lose but he is now 2 and a half stone lighter and really happy, as you can imagine. My thought is 'Don't knock it till you try it' Ash
Posted by: Ash | January 11, 2007 at 08:42 AM
Hi Ash
Thanks for your post
I don't mean to cast any doubt about the GI Diet as I think that works pretty well if you follow it (motivation being the key to making any diet work anyway).
What's strange is that the pills and patches in most of the ads for miracle weight loss products usually say you don't need to diet and then come with a diet sheet - if you follow the diet sheet you lose weight (same with many diets) but most people are actually looking for a way not to have to do that.
It's my view that you can do just as well with not buying the pills or patches whether they are GI capsules or anything else and save your money by following a sensible eating program or diet of your choice.
I do have a bee in my bonnet about diets not working but actually it's probably nearer the truth to say that we (as a whole) can't stick to diets.

Oh my God,why didnt i check it up before buying the capsules...I ordered £59.59 worth and they just arrived today,i've been eating everything i can lay hands on in the anticipation of "I WILL SOON LOOSE ALL THE WEIGHT" now this...Dont even know why i decided to look it up...seems very silly, you would think with all the miracles it is claimed to do they would have been singing it from the roofs of Hollywood...how silly of me....well i'll let you all know how it turns out just hope the drugs are not harmful..

I recently started taking the GI tablets. Within 4 days I had lost 3lb, but had terrible dizzy spells, which made me very unbalanced. I stopped taking tabs and emailed the company who told me I was one of the unlucky people for whom the tablets would not work, and have told me I should get a refund some-time this week. It is now 2 weeks since I took the last tablet and I'm still having dizzy spells. Has anyone else experienced this? I am seeing a doctor tomorrow!

I started taking the pills on the 16th of this month (February) now its 23rd,I have lost no weight and I have a massive boil on my back,,,,I dont suffer from boils and this is quite surprising and painful not to mention embarrassing...maybe I should just admit defeat and get rid of the drugs before more harm befalls.

I hope all turns out well for you.
When we take over-the-counter diet pills it's my view that we put our health in the hands of people who are usually just after our money.
If the pills worked and were safe, they would be available from your doctor. Even the ones that doctors do have only work with dietary changes so you may as well just chnage you diet in the first place and not risk any side effects.

My brother has been using these capsule so I searched for GI Capsules using google and found this site. We both work in the telecoms industry and the original feedback I had from my brother was that he's lost about 1 stone, down from 16stone 4lbs to about 15stone 4lbs - this was in a time span of about 4 weeks. At that time he suggested the capsules must have been doing as advertised - note I haven't seen any of this leaflet campaigning so can not comment. Having asked him last night for the details he's now suggesting the capsules are NOT the reason for his weight loss. He is now down to 14stone 12lb but can not seem to shift anymore weight. I wasn't aware that the capsules were to be used as part of a controlled diet and exercise regime so would suggest that it's more than likely dowm to this that has caused the loss. I haven't yet purchased these capsules, and my little bit of knowledge will mean I won't be either. Here's to a long summer of cycling and heathly eating.
Cheers,
Nigel

Posted by: Michelle | April 07, 2007 at 10:38 PM
Hi Tracy and Michelle
Thank you for posting.
It's a bit annoying that GI capsules are trying to use the GI name because the GI concept is not such a bad one. This involves eating slower-release foods which take longer to turn into energy (glucose) in the bloodsteam. Keeping blood sugar levels on an even keel in this way means you avoid the cravings caused by the sudden rise and fall in blood sugar levels when you eat something which is more quickly digested.
Take a look at any of the books on GI you'll find in many book stores and in the library if the want the benefits without paying for ineffective pills and potions.

TRUTH ABOUT GI CAPSULE :
I was desperate to get this GI capsule, so tried ordering the GI capsule by phone but requested £10 cheaper price seen on website.
However, all they wanted was my 8 digit reference number which came in the post & gave them my personal details.
They could not tell me what it costs as they just put the order in the computer. They were not interested in answering any questions on the phone.I then phoned Belgium (from website details)to place order, waited for half an hour or more and they told me to tell them what price I wanted to pay after indicating it is cheaper online. They didn't even know the price advertised.I asked if it worked & was told it works for 90% of people but you do have the refund offer.
Anyway, I tried this on 18 April and after ONE day, I PUT on weight even tho' I changed my diet precisely as indicated, with only low GI foods, loads of water and moderate EXERCISE ! Even tho' they advertise, no dieting, exercise etc !
After 3 days,I got violently ill with dizziness, gastro, the worx plus additional weight. I am sending them BACK & hope I'll get the refund promised.
I would advise anyone NOT to touch these ! Don't waste yor time or money & gamble with your health !
There is no quick, instant fix, other than plain simple, eat less with fresh fruit & veg portions, 1200 calories per day and do some form of exercise for a longterm maintained weight loss.

I'm ashamed to say that I've been suckered in to this gi capsule malarky and haven't lost a pound! Alarm bells started ringing when the pills came with a diet sheet, despite saying 'no dieting or exercise needed' in the advertising! Like many others on this site, i sent off the pills in a moment of uncharacteristic madness and have been really disappointed. I'm keeping going for a second week using the gi plan that came with them and I'll see how that goes. No dizziness or boils to speak of...yet! Please can people let the site know if they're succesfull in getting a refund and who they contacted to get one. I feel like a real mug, I wish i'd known about this site earlier! I hope that others visit here before thy buy and don't get overexited by the wild claims in the advertising like I did. Best of luck to those of you trying to lose weight. xxx

Natalie and Susan
Thanks for writing.
Don't feel too bad Natalie - a lot of people are taken in by those clever ads. Try and turn your disappointment into something positive by actually doing something about your weight.
You both know in your heart that it's only by taking action and not just swallowing a pill that anything is going to change. But you CAN do it if you want it badly enough.
If you have struggled with diets before, stop dieting! If you make one healthy change a week that you are happy to live with forever you will be in completely different shape by this time next year - without dieting AND you'll never have to diet again (or ever be tempted by those pills).

Hi Julie
no need to feel left out by your husband's weight loss success. You can do it too if you really want to.
Why not decide right from today, from now this very minute to gradually change your lifestyle so that you never need to worry about taking pills ever again.
What change can you make now that you wouldn't mind making forever. Put that one change in place and when it's so automatic you don't even think about it, make another and then another...
Pills (the kind your doctor prescribes) may help you lose weight but they don't keep the weight off once you lose it and they don't suit everyone due to side-effects.
Decide right now to do this the healthy permanent way and make yourself proud of you
all the best with your weight loss success

I have always been quite skinny my whole life but ever since my 25th birthday I have been pileing on the weight and now I am very unhappy with my body which is effecting every part of my life, my confidence at work due to lack of self esteme, my relationship with my boyfriend he feels I am not attracted to him since my sex drive has almost disapeared (which is not the case it is my own body I am unhappy with even ashamed off), most of my clothes don't fit me anymore.
I am left wondering who is this person I see in he mirror, it doesn't look like me, I really feel quite lost, and I think this G.I Pill is targeted at people like me ..... even though I know it will not work I will most likely take the chance anyway because of the 'what if' even if it is only very a slim chance it will work. I have always eaten healthy and still do and don't have time for exercise due to my hectic lifestyle I work long weeks & long hours and I just am not able to fit it in.... and other than starving myself which I will never do! I don't see what else I can do. I have found a site on the G.I Pill which was very interesting and offers alot of research into the claims and testimonials and so called experts on the pill and the results are not favourable for the G.I Pill. Check it out.

Hi Renee
thanks for posting your experiences.
You know, everyone, the sooner you see that weight loss does not come in a magic pill the better. Any pill which does work at all has so little effect as to be unnoticeable compared to the changes you can make yourself in your eating habits. Success always starts with you, in your own head - the seemingly easy way out is really no way out at all.
If you are going to be slim, it is all up to you - in the food choices you make every day.
The moment you get this truth, awful though it might seem, is the moment you can start to become slim

Hi Danielle
it's great that you want to help your mum. Two things to suggest
a) your mum checks with her doctor to see if there is any physical reason why the diet and exercise routine didn't work for her
b) you look at eating healthier as a family to give your mum support.
Also if you don't already have copies of my free reports you can get them at http://www.simplyslimming.com and http://www.dietingstop.com/blog

So, let me get this straight, 100 people all loose 10 lbs = 100x10 = 1000 lbs lost in one week. So how come there was only a *total of* 68.5 lbs lost in 11 weeks?!? Aside from equating to only 0.685 lb weight loss each (at a cost of 69.95), that means the group put *back on* a total of 931.5 lbs, or 9.31 lbs each, in a 10 week period. Scary or what?! LMAO What an obvious con.

Hi Robin
it's probably that they meant an "Average" of 68.5 pounds but whatever they meant it's ridiculous and in my opinion these capsules are a waste of money.

i received a peice of what i will call junk mail in the post yesterday and was very tempted by it, as i like all the others so wanting to lose the weight that has crept up over the years to send for the Gi Capsules that it was advertising, then thought i would look it up to see what the feed back on it was, and i am realy glad i did, i have 4 st to lose and it is taking its time to shift with the weight watchers, i think i will just stick with it and keep my money to but smething nice for when i lose the weight, so good luck all you fellow dieters.

My mum started the Gi tablets a month ago so far she has lost 14 pounds, she has no side effects has not followed any diet plan, all she has done is taken one every morning, not even followed the gi instructions of before you eat! she is still eating what she did before and the only reason she is doing this is becouse she has done everything else, so her theory was why not!I have told her the negative press but with these results how can i argue with her.. i have read all the negative comments on this site and thought someone should state that they obviously do work for some people and to the editor of think slim , instead of handing out all these theories of gi pills why not put it to the test , put a 100 women on it and see if it is a wonder cure or not, I think the jury is still out, obviously you are not going to get many people say yes it works for them,as they probably feel as my mother does oh well it works for me why bother argueing with them.
So i have given in and bought a trial of the pill, i was not on hold for ages i got straight through and i will let you know what happens with my mother and I,
One thing i will say is that after going to weight watchers and doing the weekly humiliating shout out how much weight you lost or did'nt , trying Atkins, Slimming World, low fat diet, cabbage soup diet even the Lipotrim packet diet, the only eating a 1000 calls a day, nothing has worked, and yes I have been to the doctors and had everything checked, so i guess i can totally understand why people will try anything, if this fails i will be going for the rubber band surgery..wish me luck although as an editor of Think Slim i seriously doubt you will ,given the fact that all your type of magazines only ever spout on about is being healthy eating healthy and doing more like walking, swimming cycling etc which i have done...for some that just is not enough, if this does not work i will write and let you know even with egg on my face, if it does work i will still let you know. Ps i am definately not an employee for gi pill, i work as a chef in a very very busy Kitchen in Cornwall, i dont even eat the food even though its good, work this out, i eat fruit for breakfast, for lunch i have a sandwich ham salad normally and tea i have soemthing low fat, i drink 2 lites of water everyday and i have to cycle 3 miles a day and yet i am 3 stone overweight weighing 13stone at 5 foot 3,gained ten years ago when pregnant with my one and only child, so of course im going to try anything once.....

Hi Jo
good luck with your weight loss however you choose to lose it. And no I'm not going to agree with you (but then you wouldn't expect me to, would you?) Actually 14lbs weight loss with no change in exercise or diet is remarkable (and probably something to get checked out with a doctor just to be on the safe side) but no one else in all my experience has ever achieved that with GI capsules so maybe your mum is doing something - we just don't know what.
Let us know how you get on
kind regards

P.S. There are many factors which could be preventing you losing weight with your current habits - you may not be eating enough to keep your metabolism stoked or you may be eating too much - no way of telling from your description but there's always a reason and it's not for the lack of GI capsules!

Like everyone else I got the info and having thrown it in the bin pulled it out to look again. It is VERY plausible but NO email address No web site.??? That rang bells for me.Why would I put my C Card details on such an order form? I decided to check on Google and found your site.I also emailed a fried in Singapore with the address? haven't heard back from her yet but to me it has SCAM written all over it.
Thank you Janice.

good morning all,
well, just for something different, i too am sick of feeling like a big fat heffa cow. i ordered the gi tablets on 26/10/2007 (only because i just can't seem to find the motivation to actually take the step and exercise). I eat well, very little sugar, lots of vegetables and water, i think i have a slow metabolism. Well, i now am regretting ordering the GI Tablets, they haven't arrived yet, and the money hasn't come off my card, so i am hoping they didn't receive my order. I wish everyone all the best in losing weight which ever way you choose, and that you all will soon feel as excited about the way you look as how excited we all felt when we first saw the advert for GI Tablets! (I know i thought all my prayers had been answered-now i know different reading the above emails)

Hi Dianne
Thanks for posting and helping others (who don't find the site too late) avoid wasting their money.
Now about you, unless you have a medical problem I find that a slow metabolism is rarely the sole reason for clients being overweight (in fact i can say never in all my experience) but you do need to rule out medical issues such as thyroid problems.
Keep a diary of all you eat for a week or two including quantities (no cheating!) and you'll probably find you are eating more than you thought - it's all those odd bits and pieces we pop into our mouths that we forget about and often it's the quantities which are too much of even healthy foods.
If however it looks like you are eating few calories (like between 1200 and 1500 a day) and are gaining weight it may be time to discuss the issue with your doctor.
Hope this helps

I bought the pills a while back after having a leaflet through the door. I was so convinced that theyn would work. I bought a pack. I only took them for about two weeks, and lost nothing. They cost quite alot of money too. If there was such a thing as a miracle pill to lose weight. Everyone would be slim, wouldnt they? and there would nt be any obese people, as it states that you can eat exactly what you want. So i would say to people. Dont waste yor money and stick to more healthy eating diets, like weight watchers. I lost 3 stone on this diet and i was actually eating more. But just healthy foods. It took me about 6 months, with exercise.

Thanks for your comment Kelly and well done for losing weight a healthy way.
Please listen to Kelly everyone if you are tempted to buy a "miracle" pill. There are NO miracles - you are the only one who can change things.

Well I have ordered the GI pills, I don't normally fall for this stuff either but I thought I would give it a go. I will let you guys know how it goes. I honestly have tried to stick to diets and not eat fatty food and I don't eat it as much as I used to but I am so sick of being fat no matter what I do I am honestly at a stage where I don't care what the side effects are as long as I am loosing weight. I think you have to be at a certain point to try something like this and if you are like me and are stuck with a doctor that doesn't listen, not enough energy to excersize or time and the thought of living the rest of your life on a diet is killing you then I can understand you guys falling for it too.
I mean if I go on a diet like weight watchers or something I think a person has to realise you can't ever go back. You can't loose the weight and then go back to having the things you like because that ends in yo yo dieting which apparently is worse for you than being fat in the first place. I don't think I can spend my whole life going out to dinner and watching some skinny b***h eat a hamburger and I am stuck not even having dressing on my salad because its too fattening. To be honest I am tired, frustrated and sick of feeling unattractive and this is my last go at doing anything about it before I give up entirely.
Why is it some people are skinny their whole lives and they eat twice as much as me or maybe more? It really has been getting to me lately. Why me? What gives these people the right to judge me for being fat when they eat more than me and more bad food. I mean I have friends who when they shout me lunch buy me a large serving without even asking then are either annoyed or totally shocked when I can't eat the whole thing. One of my friends her eyes nearly shot out of her head I am sure she was so suprised. I felt like saying right because I am fat you think I eat alot. She ate about 3 times what I eat and is atleast 2 sizes smaller than me. She never eats fresh vegetables and she eats a serving of meat in one go that would feed me for three days. So why does she get to be smaller than me?
So being fed up angry and just so over being so big I am trying this out and if it doesn't work well atleast I can say I have gone to all legnths to attempt to loose weight even the crazy ones.
Posted by: Megan | March 14, 2008 at 11:25 AM
Hi Megan
I hear your desperation - no one is going to blame you for trying GI pills but please don't see them as a last resort. I fear they will not help you and they are not the answer anyway.
You know we are all made different and the fact is it IS easier for some people to lose weight. Life is not fair like that in the same way that some people are born prettier, or with better brains or into richer families. You've just got to work with what you have and make the best of it.
There will be a reason why you are not losing weight - you just have to play detective and find it.
If you are truly eating healthy food in the right quantities (and in no way should this mean being hungry except when it's time to eat) and taking regular exercise then I would be exploring further with your doctor whether there is an issue.
You have to find a way to make your doctor listen (keep detailed records to prove what is happening to you - no cheating) or find a new doctor.
But don't give up - there is an answer for you as there is for everyone if you truly want to do something about your shape.

Hi All,
i have recently, and apparently foolishly ordered these capsules in a moment of weakness. i am only 18 and have always struggled with my weight and thought if therer is a money back guarantee what do i have to loose but am now extremely worried. they have not arrived yet but i figure i will try them and see how i go. ill be sure to keep you informed. despite having an extremely healthy diet and constantly excercising (6 days a week for 2 hours) i havent been able to shift the weight. perhaps we all need to try to see what works for our particualr bodies?

hi,
i am glad to have found this site before being sucked into ( just recently found out ) one of the biggest scandals in the world. the company was originally known as " Global DM Liscensing " and based in hong kong. they hav obviously chaned their company to "nurturhealth" which is based in belgium. the closest information have found is an address that you might in hope be able to use.
Nurturhealth Care Trust
EMC Brussels
P.O. Box 2193
building 710
1981, Brucargo
Belgium
Dr Martin Huntington smith is their cheif scientist and in my opinion, probably doesn't exist. this company have been responsible for numerous scams all relating to weight loss and have been charged with fraud in Hong Kong and the UK already. the company has been opperating for years. As it claims a money back guarentee it seems tempting for even the most careful punter but this Samual Bass, who is claiming to be a cheif legal officer, was found to be non existant according to fair trading and ACCC. Not even close in name anywhere in the world, who is practising law. I doubt you will get a refund i'm affraid to say, but there is o harm in trying this address in hope you might. this company needs to be stopped in its tracks, contact the consumer watchdog or today tonight and voice your findings. please. I wish you well.

It's unbelievable how these things spread around the world - I think they test in one place and then migrate their operation before they get too much poor publicity.
If you are reading this and have been conned you may get lucky and get your money back - I think some people have succeeded.
If you are out of luck you have to put it down to experience and turn your anger into renewed energy for losing weight a more natural way.
Don't let them get you down

Hi i just received the GI Capsule 3days ago and have been taking them for the past 3 days i'll have to wait and see next week what happens when i get on the scales i just hope there is some weight loss i kind of think its a scam but i guess if it is i was stupid enough to believe it would work. I noticed others saying that when they received the capsules there was a list with them of what food to eat for the tablets to work, well i didn't get that i got the GI capsules plus some other capsules as a gift that are sopose to burn off fat and that they should be taken 30min prior to eating. So i have been eating as normal 5/6 times a day taking 1 GI capsule every morning and 1 fat burning capsule 30min before each meal i'll let you all know what happens next week when i jump on the scales, but somehow after reading all these msg's re: GI Capsule i don't think i'll be very happy next week when i weigh myself guess i'll have to wait and see. thanx Diana
Posted by: Diana | April 20, 2008 at 12:58 PM
Thanks for commenting Diane - I think you know the answer already - any weight you lose will be the result of normal fluctuations and nothing to do with the GI capsules or "fat burning" pills.
Don't feel silly because you were taken in by the ad - those ads have been thoroughly tested to prey on our hopes and vulnerabilities and they know exactly how to make us open our wallets.
Many of the ads for diet ads are full of tricks and lies - doctors and scientific tests which don't exist and before and after pictures which have nothing to do with the product advertised.

The GI Pill scam has hit Australia now. I recieved a letter in the mail today with all these astonishing claims! Curiously, I read through the material and found several contradictions in the so-called testimonials, but still I thought I'd check the net and see what came up. Being a physiologist whose primary research interest is obesity and type 2 diabetes the suggestion that 1 week of taking the pill would reduce your weight by 5kg and 3kg every week thereafter seemed awfully dangerous. I was shocked by all the claims being made, especially the ones linking the pill to the french paradox and the benefits of grapes and red wine. I myself have been involved in extensive research into the effects of certain compounds found in red wine on obesity and insulin resistance and an extensive literature search will show anyone that the stuff in wine will NOT increase your metabolism. In fact, many of these studies haven't even been done in humans yet! So far, extreemly high doses (not even fathomable for human consumption) will slow weight gain in mice being fed a high fat diet. If you are trying to lose weight for real, you should NOT be on a high fat diet. EXERCISE IS THE ONLY HEALTHY WAY TO INCREASE YOUR METABOLISM- THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLIT! If you want to lose weight AND BE HEALTHY, exercise for a minimum of 45 minutes, at least 3 times a week and eat healthy, making sure you get all the vitamins and minerals you need for you body to function properly. Drink plenty of water and remember: DIET PILLS THAT CLAIM TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM AND HELP YOU LOOSE LOADS OF WEIGHT FAST ARE ALWAYS A SCAM.

Hi Izzie
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and adding your knowledge to help those who are still wondering if they are missing out by not trying out these GI capsules.
Hopefully others will find your comment and all the others and save their money too. I just wonder how many waste their money without doing the research - because these companies send out so many ads worldwide they are definitely making a huge profit

This website has been very helpful thanks, i was going to order the gi tablets but have since changed my mind as well. I only have a couple of kilos to loose, but was considering getting them because im a sucker for advertising. I don't believe in diets either, i aggree it should be a lifestlye change and something you can stick to long term. But i just wanted to share this with people that ive found works for me... i take Chromium for (sugar cravings), physllium husks (absorbs toxins and helps you go to the toilet naturally)and also i had my allergy's tested and since going off the things i had allergy's too, i feel really happy and dont feel sick or hate the thought of exercise.

Well, am i glad i read this page - i just received the "miracle pill" package too and i also thought - this is too good to be true but hey kylie Minouge is even listed as a success story, surely she would have the right to sue them if its false? i have tried a few diets in the past including "lemon detox" with a small success but weight came flying back the second i stopped it, to be honest the best "pill" i have found successful was the "fat blaster" BUT that was with daily workouts on my airofit machine. (i do swear by that thing) i almost signed over my credit card details but after spending a bit of time reading this - i threw it in the bin! What a great idea google is for this exact reason. Looks like i have to get back on ol trusty - the airofit. Good luck all

Hi i recently purchased the Gi Capsule worth $180.00 Aus dollars and boy do i regret it, i am going to ask for a refund, anyone out there who are thinking of getting the Gi Capsule, DON'T you'll only be wasting your money...since taking the tablet i have been getting the runs, and i have since stopped, maybe that's why those other people have been losing weight becos they have been running to the TOILET ALOT!!! so the more u eat, the more u run!

WoW these people really are sneaky aren't they? "Renee" above posts a website address which is supposedly not favourable toward the pills and yet it is the site of the very company advertising them! Not too smart "Renee" we're not quite THAT dumb!
In this day and age it would be par for the course to have salespeople trolling the net posting on such sites rather than, say, doing telephone sales - it would actually be stupid not to. Sigh.

Received some info on g.i capsules two weeks ago, It says not g.i diet but a new g.i capsule, apparently better, easier, faster and completely diet & exercise free! The question is, Is there more than one type of g.i tablets out there or is this just another con?
Decided to do a bit of research this morning and so very glad to find this website.Happy and upset at the same time as I read through people's comments about g.i tables.I can honestly say I read more bad feedbacks than what I really wanted to hear but nevertheless it really got me thinking that maybe these capsules are dangerous for my health.I'm very thankful to all those who have comment on this particular drug, it's enough to convince me not to try g.i tablets ever. I will stick to my sports and exercise to lose weight. I had never tried any diets nor any drugs to loose weight before but been humans I guessed when you received something that sounds so promising it can easily tempt you.
Love to hear some more comments.

Thanks for your comments Amie, Annie and DBR warning people about wasting their money on GI capsules. DBR - I'm not surprised the odd spam comment slips through the net - you should see how many I get that don't reach the blog!
The problem is the ads pay - so these companies keep on sending out their diet pill ads - we want to believe there is an easy solution so we fall for it. But any solution takes effort and work. We know that deep down. We just don't want to accept it.
But until we do the work to change our habits we'll never lose weight permanently.
It's that simple

Hi there, I have been taking the GI capsule for over a week now and no change. Unfortunately I ordered and started taking them before discovering this site. After reading the comments I am unsure as to what to do about continuing if they are not proven to be safe. Also, for the people who did not lose weight then after 2 weeks starting losing, was that because of change of diet or do you honestly think that it was due to the capsule itself? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Leisa
Posted by: Leisa | August 30, 2008 at 08:20 AM
If you've had no result in weight loss with diet and exercise it might be worth your time and money to see a naturopath and ask about your hormone balance. An imbalance of estrogen and progesterone can cause weight issues that diet and exercise alone won't fix. It's not a miracle cure - once your hormones are balanced a healthy diet and exercise should reduce body fat.
Posted by: Paula | September 04, 2008 at 06:53 AM
Hi Paula,
I think you're right - there are some people who have tried everything to lose weight and have not been able to make any progress - they have a medical condition which needs managing.
If you are in that category don't hesitate to seek help.
Just make sure that you are not deluding yourself about what you are really eating and drinking and how little exercise you are taking before you put your weight down to a medical issue.
Take note of everything you eat and drink (no cheating) and work out how many calories you are consuming as well as how many calories you need before you go to your doctor.
It's amazing how easy it is to "forget" items that we consume and then put it down to "hormones"

Hi,
I have only recently sent through an order for the GI pill. Of course, I have only to regret this going forward. I am finding it strangely odd that the provider does not have information online to promote their product. I am not overweight but have put on weight recently and am becoming depresses as my clothes are not fitting mr properly. As many, I fluctuate with my weight and this is a continuous cyle but I am finding it really difficult to lose weight this time around. I generally eat quite well and exercise anyway but my body needs other stimulation now I think. I must say that I feel quite silly believing that this pill could be effective. Are you able to tell me, of the responses you have had that weight has dropped off rapidly, what else has been said. If you have any further information, please forward on as I am very eager to learn more. Somewhere inside of me, I am still hoping that they do something, combined with a good diet and regular exercise. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
I decided to look up some info about the g.i capsules to see if anyone has heard of them or if they have a website and I came across this web site and felt sick as soon as I read some comments on what people had to say about them. I put in a order form for a 60 day course a week ago which costs 140 dollars. and it said on the order for that they dont take the money out of my bank account until they depatched the capsules to me. I sent them an email before a came across this website asking when they will be sendng the capsules because its been a week already. My mother in law ordered some of the g.i capsules to about 2 weeks ago and they havent taken the money out of her account yet either. becuase almost everyone on this website is saying that they are c**p and some people have only lost a little bit of weight, tomorrow morning I am going straight into town to take my money out and going to call the mother to let her know that they dont work. Thanks guys, you have just saved my money

hi there: well. i got today the letter from the G.I capsules and believe me this material is very tempting.... since i remember i've always had troubles with my weight even when the very low waist pants came out in 2001 in my city town... i lost weight a lot back then but unfortunetly in the wrong way.... i stoped eating and i had begennings of anorexy... after that my parents feed me till i had a normal body again but my body started to acumulate fat again just in case if i decided to lose weight again!!!! our bodies aren't silly, are they?
well right before winter i was 71 kg now i am about 80 kg and i am ment to be about 68 kg according to my height 1.68 cm and tonight i was so ready to order this product (G.I capsules) till i decided to have a better look of this product because on this advertisements it does not say any web sites or anything where to call so i wasn't sure to write my credit card details on mail it to someone or a company that does not appear online as i shop regulary online it just did not looked right...
i am glad i came across this bloq coz now i know, i need to lose weight in a healthy way otherwise i'll put the weight back on if i don't.
guys out there, my dad is a doctor and he always tells me, eat 6 small meals a day, fruits except banana coz it has too much sugar, veggies, protein (beef, chicken, fish, pork, etc) and drink water. if u r craving for sugar have 1 treat a week not 1 every day.... i am not a soft drink lover, so i rather prefer natural juices no added suggars or colours...they are out in markets like wollies instead of coke, solo, etc... and move a bit more, so i think its time fo me to listen to this good advise from a doctor and unpack my new abs machine...
wish me luck guys and hopefully by december i could lose the weight i put on this winter!!!!!!
of course i'll let you know what happens and if you have some advises for me, please post them in the bloq
thank you all,

Got this whole GI pill thing in the mail yesterday. I was going to send off for the pills when my partner came home and said there was no such thing as a "miracle" cure and I wasn't to send them a cent. I was still thinking about doing it, on the off chance he was wrong, but I thought I would Google the concept first. I must say, I'm glad I didn't send them any money.
How do these people get my address?

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posted a message. I am a mother of 3 who has done nothing but gain weight with each kid and in between. When the gi cap mail came in I was ready to give anything a try.... but reading everything written I have decided HELL NO! Reading about one lady's side effects to the pills, My husband and I decided that our kids are more important than loosing weight this way. I may not be able to get out of the house to often, being the typical 1950's house wife, but one thing is for sure I WILL NEVER BUY THESE PILLS. Anyone thinking about buying them after reading from here should have more respect for them selves they are obviously dangerous....

hello,
i recieved the G.I capsule advertising in the post. i have always struggled with my weight when i had read it i was amazed and wrote a cheque. that was about two weeks ago cheque hasnt been used yet. i then thought today i will try to find the number on the internet to see what happened to my order and when is it coming. when i came across this website and now regretting what i had done. i have a tip for those who want refunds if they took your money and havent refunded you or you cant get in contact with them call your bank and tell them you dont know where that money went to and you didnt othorise for it. The bank puts in a claim and they put the money back into your account if the company want it back they will contact you and you can tell them thats your refund back. i did it by mistake once i thought i didnt know a transaction that had been processed on my card called the bank. they put the money back into my account and call the other company saying you dont know them and why money was taken out. when i realised i gave the money back it was for product i had orded the company called me and explained the name they are under. but it works. i tried to call the number that was posted but i live in South Australia does the front number have to be changed
thanx

Hi, I have just read comments but unfortunately it is very late. I have got the advertisement of the G.I capsules long time ago. However, I have filled the form with my credit card information and my signature to purchase the capsules. I think it has been 3 weeks by now, and I keep cheking my bank account and nothing has happend and obviously I have not recieved any capsules either. Could you please advise me how can I stop the order and the transfer of money from my account to them, because after I have read the comments I have changed my mind and I do not want to buy the G.I capsules.
I thank you for your kind attention and help.
