Another "great" offer through the letter box today. (Where do these people get my address from?). From the same glorious company who brought us Cellu-Svelte no less. (See the numerous postings on that in the April archive).
Obviously one miracle product wasn't enough to satisfy!
This time "better than liposuction without the surgery or expense" emblazoned across the envelope. Mmmh! Fantastic!
The product is called Lipo-Slim (TM) and will "extract body fat all night long so you lose at least 6 pounds a week".
Well, excuse me - but where does it go? Will I find great globules of it down the bottom of the bed? Will it dissolve into the air and the bedroom will be like a greasy kitchen after a fry-up?
No? This time it attaches itself to liposuction pads you stick to your feet and you put them in the dustbin (about a pound a night of it by all accounts!)
Please girls save your money - if 99lbs could be sucked right out of your body in this way (in less than 3 weeks) we would not be hearing about it for the first time in an advert - we'd have heard about it on TV and we'd be queueing up for it at the doctor's surgery!
All the best with your realistic weight loss efforts
Janice Elizabeth
Thank you for being on the web. I had nearly forked out £56 pounds for a 10 week course. I need to lose about 49lbs, and I thought this would be wonderful. It stated that it was now a success on the continent and America. I rang my sister in Holland and my friend in Florida, but they have never heard of the product. Not one woman's magazine has reported on it. They suggested that I look it up on the web. And bless you there is your article. Thank you so much for saving me £56. I am desperate to loose weight, but not my money.

To whom this may concern,
I recieved the leaflets etc about your product and sent my £19 cheque off to you for two weeks supply. That was sent on 21st janurary and i am very dissatisfied to find that nothing has been sent to me yet. The cheque cleared last thursday (27th jan) and I have nothing to show for it. Many people have said to me that it is a big con...please give me an explanation for this!

Hi Amanda,
Please let us know if you receive any response from the Lipo-Slim company. I'd be interested in what they say although they have previously taken a few weeks to send stuff I understand with their previous product Cellu-Svelte.
In any case I wouldn't hang about waiting for miracles and if you read the comments on the post Lose Pounds in the April archives you'll see why....
Janice
P.S.I have sent you a separate e-mail as well re your posting to the contact form in my main weight loss motivation site

I stupidly sent off for Lipo-Slim not long ago and havent recieved anything. How do i get my money back?
Posted by: Lorna | February 01, 2005 at 08:20 AM
PLEASE...Is there anyone out there that has actually got hold of this product AND can tell me whether or not it works? I just want to lose some weight, not all my money!
Posted by: Lisa | February 01, 2005 at 02:30 PM
I don't know anyone who has received money back Lorna but you could try writing to ask.
Lisa, I think their are better ways to spend your money if you want to lose weight - there's no such thing as a magic solution, I'm afraid.

Hi,
I too received the blurb on Lipo-slim today and read it all about 3/4 times. I was really tempted but then thought to check on the web - I'm glad I did.
Many thanks Janice.

I have trained in both Nutriton and accupressure and can state, categorically, that this product has no sound basis in either.
If anyone who is unsuccessful in claiming a refund please post a message. My main career is as a litigation solicitor and I can advise you on where to go for advice on bringing legal proceedings if you need to. This is something you can now do very easily on your own if you have internet access.

Dear Janice,
Thank goodness for your site and my husbands tight & sceptical nature. I, my husband and daughter have been ill over the course of the last two years and we as a family are all trying to lose weight. We even joined the local Gym, so when I received the leaflet for Lipo-Slim, my daughter and I thought it would give our weight loss program a boost and at my last doctors appointment i took the literature to him. He very kindly read it and responded today, telling me that he did not see how it could work but if it only used natural ingredients it could not harm me. We decided to have the product checked out and found your site. Many thanks for that and the time you obviously take to respond to the people who write. I have asked my husband to bookmark your site so I can revisit at my leisure. We are now going to also write to the BBC, who have a consumer program called Watchdog and report the UK agent for the product.

You know, I don't think there are any miracles for sale out there - just the miracle inside your own head when you decide to eat healthily and move your body - and that is completely free of charge.

informed about these people who prey on vulnurable women who want to lose weight

Hi there,
I ordered these pads about a week ago, since then I have tried checking with the post office for the free post address and that box is not anything to do with Dr Kingston, I checked with my credit card company and it states that it has gone to Health and Life Science thats it nothing else

Hi Janice
Like many other women I was sceptical when I received the Lips-Slim information, and thought this has to be too good to be true! I've been pondering as to whether or not I should send of this this miracle pad!
I've been searching the web for details of the lab and the various doctors names, but none of them seem to exist! Then finally I came across your site, thank goodness. The comments people have posted are very interesting but all so very familiar. I too was thinking of writing to Watchdog to see if this is genuine. So strange how only the envelope you return has an address, and having read all the info, it doesn't even tell you how long it will be before you receive the product or what to do if your goods don't arrive.
I will be writing to Watchdog today..... I've still got all the info, minus the envelope it arrived in, I'll happily forward to Watchdog.
I wonder how much money they have conned out of us so far.... You hear so many stories about these type of companies, how do we stop them, apart from not responding??
Thanks again.

Definitely too good to be true.
I found this website http://www.ukliposuctionalternative.com/
which seems to claim the same sort of thing except that you are applying the cloth to the affected areas.
I assume this is another con?

Weight loss this way was my only option weighing in at 350lb.
I bought the product & boy did it take a while to reach - over 5 weeks. I was
getting worried afetr spending 55 pounds on this mystical product. I feel quite thirsty in the mornings
after using the product but it sure lives up to its name. Lost 34lbs so far.
Ian,
Phone numbers removed by editor as Ian did not make this post (see next few comments on this post)
Posted by: Ian Butler | February 09, 2005 at 01:56 PM
I have now received several calls regarding this posting and I can confirm that I have never used this product, never lost 34 pounds and please do not ring this number as it has clearly been posted here fraudulently.
Posted by: Ian Butler | February 09, 2005 at 02:58 PM
As editor of the blog I also rang Ian who was very surprised to hear he'd lost 34 lbs by sticking pads to his feet. Although as a responsible editor I would not normally edit anyone's post (except to remove blatant spam) I will edit Ian's previous post to avoid him being disturbed by calls all the time.

Unfortunately I also have been duped by this scam, I sent of my credit card details for this company to take 44.99 with the view that these patches would be a wonderful thing. How wrong can one be! I have had ziltch since January, and I'm going to try to get my money back. It will be a very long time before I order anything from the post again. I will need to see what I'm buying before I give over any money.
This has certainly taught me a valuable lesson.

Hi, I live in Bedford and have tried to trace this Company via the postcode. It is coming up as a 'private school'. I have also sent money and not had the product sent so I have contacted Bedford police, with whom I am going to take this website and thankfully, I photocopied the form down to them. I will post a reply when I get back.

Just came back from the police station and was told that as my money was only taken from my account on 4/2/05 that I had to give them a chance to come up with the goods!
So will write to them first and then if no joy will take it back to the police after a couple more weeks. I urge all of you who have already lost money to contact your police or use the address on this website to try and get your money back. If they get loads of letters they may realise that we know their game!
Good luck.

I am another mug who recieved this so called amazing lipo slim! I, like most of you was very tempted to use this method and I am so glad I read this first.
I have tried doing an address search and a postcode search on one that you send the money to but they both come back as not recognised. Where does it go? it must go somewhere for them to cash the money!!
But, on the envelope the junk came in there is a 'please return' address, which is supposed to be
NL 0011
Unit 9
Trident Way
Southall
UB18 7NL
But the search for the postcode came back as
Spring
Netherlands
GREENFORD
UB18 7NL
When I searched the address for the supposed one, it came back as...
Unit 9
International Trading Estate
Trident Way
SOUTHALL
UB2 5LF
I hope this could help you. Im sorry but I cannot find the phone numbers for them.

I have informed my credit card company who have assured me that they will refund me as the goods were never recieved. They will take up the dispute with the retailer's bank. The Lipo-slim offer looks very attractive, doesn't it?... Of course the pictures of these women who they use, also very realastic, but who is to say these woman have not offered their photos from a genuine weight loss programme, in which their result may have taken them considerably more than 6-12 months to achieve. Was curious so researched the web for Lipo-slim, Dr Kingston.. Dr Imossi and Professor Lane... not one site to offer any information on these so called Medical Experts. Again anyone can dress in a White coat and claim to be a Doctor of medicines. The only information offered is the address Dr Charles Kingston, Lipo-slim Laboratories, Freepost, ANG 7708, Bedford. MK40 2BR... no contact number, no web site, no Customer Services, NOTHING.. only everything to make you believe it is some form of a scam. Wouldn't you believe that people in this level of profession, whom can create miracles would be broadcasted and recognised, even at least on a WEB SEARCH, .... Makes me wonder!!???

Hi
I sent of for the £54.95 pack just over 2 weeks ago, after reading your site i didnt expect to receive anything back, but two days ago they came through with a free bottle of perfume so last night i nervously tried a patch and low and behold this morning after removing the grim looking patch i have lost 2lbs, although it does give you a diet plan to follow, i seem to remember the leaflet stating "no diets". So all i can say is i'll keep you updated and if you have sent off for them i hope yours turn up! good luck. Louise

I usually put junk mail straight in the bin, but even I looked twice at this one! I received it this morning,24th February. The ultimate sceptic that I have always been urged me to look up the internet to see if I could track the company and the outrageous claims being made. I'm really glad there are people who care enough to set up sites such as this one and I have a suggestion. I am aware a few people have received the pads and they seem to work, but there is no guarantee of how well they work or that money will be refunded if the results aren't as brilliant as it is claimed they will be. I think we should all work together and completely bombard the companies many addresses with mail stating we are unhappy with the manner in which this product has been presented to us and if they are, indeed, genuine then perhaps it is a good idea to set up a web site, a call centre or some customer services because sending us junk mail in this way is no longer going to work.

Like yourselves, I am interested to find out more about this product. I certainly won't be purchasing any until they are a more widely recognised. However, I do remember seeing an article about them at least 2 years ago on a program like This Morning, or Richard & Judy. If someone's got the time, maybe they can check up with these programs' archive people to see if they can throw more light on the company?

The explanation of the Lipo-Slim pads is scientifically nonsens. There has been no publication of the named scientists ever. Please don't waste your money.

I have send a postal check in the middle of January and haven't got anything so far.. I am from Irealnd, Dublin. I don't know what to do. I will definitelly write to Watchdogs. This is ridiculous!

I sent off my order 5 weeks ago and have not heard anything from them - no money has been taken from my card however I am now seriously regretting filling in my card details. I will be checking my card for any mis-use.

We received the same mail this week in our country, the Netherlands. The reply-adress is:
Dr. Kingston
Lipo-Slim Laboratories
Antwoordnummer 9461
1000 WP Amsterdam
No such laboratory is known in Amsterdam, at least i can't find any.
I think its fraud. Don't give your money away.

I finally recieved a package on Saturday 26th February, after sending them a letter giving them 14 days notice to send the goods or refund my money ~ they sent 7 days worth instead of 14.
I promptly sent it back in the same packaging got a certificate of posting and have given them another 14 days to pay up!
I'll keep you posted.
Suggest all those still waiting to do the same.

Are they the same as Japanese detoxifying foot pads? These make no claim re weight loss but are suppossed to remove toxins from th ebody.
Posted by: Sheena | March 01, 2005 at 01:03 PM
Sheena,They are the same as the Japanese detoxifying foot pads and they certainly do remove the toxins. The pads definitely do not weigh 2 lbs when removed, more like 2 ounces... The weight loss is more around the diet and water input. I've lost 3 lbs since Friday.

I answered your advertisment on 1-2-05 and you cashed my cheque on 16-2-05 I am still waiting for my pads worth £44.95. Am I going to get them or will I still be waiting next month. I hope they are as good as they sound.

Thank goodness I read this website and managed to stop my cheque just in time.... I too had never fallen for a gag like this before but am desperate to lose weight. I already eat very healthily and run at least 25km per week so I need some other kick start. Anyway - liposlim seems not to be the answer according to the majority of the messages. Thanks again.

I've ordered my pads on Jan. 29th, Have not received anything, £44.95 have been debited from
my credit card on 18th Febr. 05.
I believe it is a con and after reading your website, I will now contact Watchdog, my credit card company and Bedford Trading Standards.
Hope I'll get my money back.

hi everyone
oh dear this doesnt sound good i have been waiting about six weeks, i ordered these pads as i have tried other products of theirs and lost about 3 stone using them. i have never had to wait so long for their products. everybody seemed to have sent off for them at around the same time. one mintue i think they must just have that many orders to post that its taking a long time, then the other side of me is think, oh brill been stupid enough to order £45 worth of this product and now i have lost it when i didnt really have it in the first place.
some one mentioned a diet of sorts is invovled the leaflet did say no dieting what kind of diet is it. please let me know
i will write to the company asking for the product or my money,And if i dont hear from them i will get in touch with watch dog

hi
after reading all of the above comments i must unfortunatley be added to the list of volunteers who have given money to this company and not yet recieved any goods i am more than willing to be part of any group willing to bring this scam to an end wither that be through police involvement or watch dog, because £63.95 has been taken from my bank account on the 17th of feb.
Posted by: val | March 02, 2005 at 12:12 PM
Hi,
I have been reading this site with interest since the weekend. I too sent off my money on 2.2.05 and was worried it was a scam. I received them this morning with the surprize gift which was a bottle of perfume. I will try one tonight to see what happens. Will keep you posted.

I'm another gullible fool who parted with £44.95 - debited from my credit card account on 10 feb, still got nothing. Thee money has sone to a gibralter based company! Will give it a few more weeks and then contact trading standards and credit card company. If anything turns up will let you know. I'd be interested to hear from those of you who have used thier products in the past as I can find nothing about them on the net.

Yes i have to be added to this list too. Never sent off for anything in the post before but this one got me! I sent a cheque, something like £44 at the end of January. And you know what? even after reading all your posts, im STILL hoping i will receive them!
thanks for posting the address, i will definatley write to them, either to demand my money back or to beg to send them!!
